Taly Matiteyahu: Iterate and Grow
Taly Matiteyahu started her career journey in law, but moved into technology at a smaller startup, where she was able to leverage her legal background in an operations role. In all her decisions, she is bold and moves to find her own life fulfillment. Her journey is based on following her heart in what makes her happy, which is a good lesson for all of us. She is currently working as a product manager at Evisort, having previously worked in legal operations at Netflix and Datadog, and is working on building a dating app as a side hustle. After completing law school and working at a law firm, Taly Matiteyahu pivoted into the startup space. It wasn’t easy to leave behind her law career,but it was worth it for her long term happiness. She then ventured out in the tech startup space where she brought her legal chops to the table. She was able to optimize and automate, but wanted more to grow as an ambitious young woman.
She spread her wings and went to work for Netflix. She found that she really loved building things while she was at Netflix and transitioned to a product manager role at a legal tech company. After being inspired by a blind restaurant dining experience, she started building a dating application on the side. She encourages people to work on their ideas on the side while working full time jobs to overcome the fear of insecurity and instability when jumping to the startup space. This is a great way to try new things and pursue your passions.
Now, she is developing a dating application focused on dating where personality, values, passions, and quirks are more important than looks, name, or demographic background. She brings her heart and openness to work with others while learning all the things she needs to know while starting up this side company.
Her journey should really inspire you to follow your heart in your career decisions. She was bold to take leaps of faith, but we can all do that to find our happiness in life by trying things. It is ok to fail. Taly is living proof of the E + R = O formula by acting on prompts she had to do something different and respond by taking action to pursue her app idea.
