Women of Cisco Receives Prestigious Clarion Award for Excellence in Communications
Association for Women in Communications honors Women of Cisco with a Clarion Award for the 2019 Women of Cisco Rebrand Launch
San Jose, CA– The Association for Women in Communications (AWC) recognized winners of its esteemed 2020 Clarion Awards competition. Nicole Scheffler, Cisco Engineering Strategy Leader, and Tasha Klares, Cisco Public Sector Marketing Manager, along with the Women of Cisco team have been honored for their excellence in the field of communications.
As one of the most prestigious competitions of its kind in the country, the 2020 competition attracted entries from 20 states and two countries, with entries judged by teams of experts from all aspects of the marketing and communications fields. The team was awarded a Clarion for their volunteer driven project, Women of Cisco Rebrand Campaign in the Employee Relations Campaign category. The project highlights the efforts of an Employee Resource Organization, referred to as Inclusion and Collaboration Organization internally, rebrand, consolidation, and re-launch for Women of Cisco. Previously, the organization itself was two separate internal networks united by the same cause, Cisco Empowered Women's Network and Cisco Connected Women. The submitted work was around the social media and marketing aspects of this successful campaign. This included strategy for the following:
Audit and consolidation of globally distributed organization social media handles
Formal content calendar, metrics system, and submission workflow for social media content along side marketing strategy
Formation of the Women of Cisco social media street team that works together to promote and celebrate women of Cisco through social media leveraging Cisco teams and bots to automate post visibility and create community
Launch content strategy and social media push resulting in 160k impressions in launch month alone (Aug 2019)
Interactive media campaign
Complete graphic creation and creative strategy
