“That is the beauty of technology. It allows you to connect to other people.”
-Gabrielle Crichlow

Gabrielle Crichlow is the founder and leader of A Step Ahead Tutoring. She has a Masters degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from St. John's and also holds a Bachelors in Psychology. She brings a wealth of academic excellence and a proven record of tutoring. She has experience in supplemental education service and understands the need for low and middle income families to have the tutoring they need to help their kids be successful in school and life.

She takes her heart for these children and started her own tutoring service. From her experience, she is able to reach her life goal as a full-time entrepreneur and change lives for parts of the population in her community in the most need. She learned her own lessons in 2020 after the pandemic changed life for everyone.

Schools got moved from in person to virtual. The ratio of women, including women in tech, that were leaving the workforce was significantly greater than that of men. This can take years of healing to recover from the already challenging equality ratios in technology. In addition, the families with young children at home needed Gabrielles' tutoring service more than ever. Most of all, Gabrielle had to pivot her own business to move from in person to virtual. This is not new to almost all of us who now order all our food from an app or find new ways to work at home while helping your kids get on zoom.

The reality is she learned to pivot. She changed her mindset, wasn't afraid to learn new things, and moved quickly to help those in need of tutoring. We discuss all the things she learned and extract some really good tips for all tech divas.

 In this episode, we discuss:

📚 How to get clear on who you serve
📚 Baselining where your business is at and where you need to go
📚 Moving through a huge transition with a good mindset
