Katherine has been fascinated with recruiting since childhood. She founded Titan Management in 2014 with the dream of innovating hiring, and to help entrepreneurs realize their visions without breaking the bank. In 2020, Titan began work on their patent-pending anti-bias applicant tracking system. Katherine is also striving to improve the hiring process on a national level by spreading good practices and generating proactive conversations via media. In April 2020, she founded a career show, Career Launch Live. She is innovating in the space and impacting trends in hiring and recruiting work.

What would a world look like without resumes? She shares that almost 90% of professionals do not know how ro create a resume and over 60% of recruiters can’t properly scan a resume. That is why we can leverage technology and more modern job tools to help source qualified candidates.

Katherine shares her feedback from talking with many diversity, equity, and inclusion leaders and found that many of them offer three things that help make them successful in the space:

  • Strong listening skills

  • Employer branding that reflects your culture

  • Networking with diverse groups

We talk about how important it is level the playing field for those looking for a job and the importance of job seekers to find a job they are really excited about. She also gave some additional tips for those looking for job to help them find one more successfully that include:

  • Reaching out to network with recruiters

  • Posting often on Linked in to create your brand

  • Following up with people using video or a voice message

  • Standing out in the process by going the extra mile

  • Bringing your creative ideas to the hiring manager

  • Do your research on the company and the people you are interviewing with

She reminds us to create that strong personal brand and stay outside the comfort zone. Katherine drops tons of “gems” in this podcast, but remember that if you are on the hiring side of the game to hire the person, not the wrapping.
